SurgAR is proud to present the first results on the use of augmented reality software for kidney surgery, developed in collaboration with Bordeaux University Hospital Centre, and integrating Fujifilm’s Synapse model.
Augmented reality introduces a new dimension to complex surgical procedures by providing surgeons with real time important information. This technology enables a transparent, accurate virtual view of the kidney, enhancing surgical precision and improving the potential for kidney preservation. The use of the Synapse preoperative model significantly improves clinical understanding by offering critical insights into the tumour’s location, characteristics, and surrounding structures.
The integration of AR in urology holds great promise for preoperative planning, intraoperative navigation, and the training of future surgeons. These cutting-edge technologies aim to enhance surgical outcomes, reduce postoperative complications, and improve the overall patient experience.
A big thank you to the entire SurgAR team and to Fujifilm’s partners for their dedication to this pioneering project!
